OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY and HEALTH for the SUPERVISOR – BSBCMN411A

This program designed for WA industry covers the content of the Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management) Safe Workplace topic BSBCMN411A Monitor a Safe Workplace. This unit may also match competencies in other qualifications.

KEY SUBJECT AREAS
• Occupational Safety and Health legislative framework
• Role of the supervisor in safety and health
• Hazard and risk management
• Injury recording and analysis

DESIGNED FOR
People in line management positions including supervisors, leading hands and frontline managers.

ASSESSMENT
Trainees can elect to be assessed for competency (for an additional fee) by submitting the self-paced Workplace Competencies Workbook for the unit within eight weeks of course completion. Successful completion of the assessment requirements will provide participants with a Statement of Attainment for BSBCMN411A Monitor a Safe Workplace, in partial completion of a Certificate IV in Business  (Frontline Management).

 

SUCCESSFUL SAFETY COMMITTEES

The safety committee is in an unrivalled position to provide the focus for safety activities in any organisation. Safety Committee Member training complements Safety and Health Representative, Introductory Training and the OSH for Supervisors course and provides the workplace with an effective team to enhance Occupational Safety and Health.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES
At the conclusion of the program participants should be able to:
• Prepare, participate in, and run effective OSH Committee meetings;
• Undertake the role of the OSH Committee as laid out by legislation;
• Participate effectively in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of OSH programs relevant to the organisation;
• Discuss the formulation, implementation and evaluation of OSH programs relevant to the organisation;
• Utilise a model for problem solving/decision making;
• Utilise the process of accident investigation to make recommendations in regard to the incident;
and
• List, use and keep up-to-date with important sources of information on OSH.
